One of the insurance companies that offered coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace at HealthCare.gov in 2022 will no longer offer individual and family plans in North Carolina.
According to a statement on Bright HealthCare’s website, “Written notifications have been or will be sent to all impacted Individual and Family Plan members in the near future so they can select a new plan during the open enrollment period (OEP)…”
If this impacts you, you will need to enroll in a new policy by Dec. 15, 2022, in order to ensure you are covered for Jan. 1, 2023. Keep in mind that Open Enrollment for the HealthCare.gov Marketplace goes until Jan. 15, 2023, but if you enroll in a new policy after Dec. 15, you will not be covered until Feb. 1, 2023.
