Need Coverage?

Seeking health coverage is a big step. We’ll help you take the next one.

Health coverage through the Healthcare Marketplace® at Healthcare.gov ensures that your medical expenses will be fully or partially covered by healthcare providers, hospitals and urgent care facilities that accept your plan.

Finding coverage for you and your family depends on several factors, such as how much money you make or whether you have a job that offers it. Finding coverage that covers what you need for a cost you can afford can be confusing, but that’s why we’re here.

You can shop for a policy directly on the Marketplace, but it’s a good idea to get help.

When you make a free appointment with a health insurance navigator, they will ask you some simple questions to determine which plan will most likely work for you.

Do you qualify for discounts or subsidies?

The HealthCare.gov website shows which health insurance plans are available in each state. The policies are offered by companies licensed to work in North Carolina. The policy’s price may be cheaper if you qualify for discounts (also called subsidies).

You can only enroll during the HealthCare.gov Open Enrollment period unless you have a special reason for enrolling at another time.

Do you qualify for Medicaid or CHIP?

Depending on your income and family size, you or your family members may qualify for government-supplied healthcare, such as Medicaid or Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).

If you qualify for Medicaid, there is no limited enrollment period, meaning you can enroll at any time. Once you have Medicaid, you do not have to purchase healthcare through the Marketplace.
